"Car trip around the Great Lake Baikal"

We are glad to invite you in a wonderful trip around the Lake Baikal. In this trip you will discover Siberian cities Irkutsk and Ulan Ude. Moreover you will visit beautiful Tunkinskay Valley and Baikalsky National Reserve. You will see the biggest fresh water delta of the National River Selenga and Sacred Nose peninsula (Zabaikalsky National Park). You will get acquainted with the history and culture of the local people and discover the incredible beauty of Lake Baikal.

Tour programme:

1st Day. Arrival in Irkutsk. After breakfast departure for the village of Arshan (150 km). Accommodation at the tourism camp. Lunch. Excursion on the territory of the village with visiting the hot mineral springs.

2nd Day. After breakfast two hours hiking to the large waterfall of the river “Kyngorga”. After lunch car excursion along the Tunkinskay valley with visiting the sacred places. Dinner.

3rd Day. After breakfast transfer to the city of Sludyanka located in the southern part of the Lake Baikal. Visit the local museum of minerals. After lunch departure for the village of Tankhoy where the central headquarter of the Baikalsky National reserve is located. Accommodation at hotel. Dinner.

4th Day. After breakfast hiking to the beautiful waterfall located on the territory of the reserve. Cooking on camp fire. Evening return to the village for overnight in hotel and dinner.

5th Day. After breakfast departure for the village of Big river to visit fish hatchery. Drive to village of Posolsk. Lunch on the shore of the lake. Excursion to the first Russian monastery. Accommodation at homes of local families. Dinner along the traditional Baikal family.

6 - 7th Days. After breakfast transfer to the boat station Shigaevo to get aboard motorboats and explore the wetlands of the Selenga delta. Lunch en route. Excursion on the numerous channel of the river. Excursions to the islands and bird watching. Visit to the oldest lighthouse in the delta for excursion. Birds watching opportunity. Overnight in tents.

8th Day. Morning departure for the village of Ust-Barguzin located on the shore of the Lake Baikal (7-8 hours). Lunch en route. Accommodation at tourist camping site or at homestay. Free time to explore the lake. Russian banya. Dinner (traditional Siberian dishes).

9th Day. Drive to the isthmus of the Sacred Nose peninsula (Zabaikalsky National Park). After lunch we will climb the plateau of the Sacred Nose Peninsular (1877 meters height). At the summit you will have a great opportunity for video-photo shooting of the panoramic views of Baikal. Evening return to the base camp for dinner and overnight in tents.

10th Day. After breakfast a boat excursion to the hot mineral spring located in Snake Bay. Opportunity to try the hot mineral bath. Evening return to the isthmus for overnight in tents and dinner.

11th Day. Full day of rest on the isthmus. *Excursion to the Barguzin Valley to see petroglyphs, the unique natural Suvo "Saxon" castle (130 km). Visit the sacred places “Bull Stone” the famous spot for worship of the people who live in the valley. Return to the friendly host families in Ust-Barguzin for dinner and overnight.

12th Day. After breakfast, departure for Ulan Ude (260 km). Lunch en route. Accommodation and lunch at the Hotel. Free time to get acquainted with the capital of Buryat Republic. Dinner in the local restaurant.

13th Day. After breakfast at hotel, guided city excursion with visit to the Buryat History museum. After lunch an excursion to the Ivolginsky Datsan, the most important Buddhist temple in Russia. (40 km from Ulan Ude). Free time after lunch. Dinner (traditional Buryat dishes and folklore entertainment). Return to hotel.

14th Day. Transfer to the airport for your departure after breakfast.
